Request a Consultation
A HEAT technical consultation is FREE independent and professional advice on building a new home or renovating and improving the energy and water efficiency of your existing home.
Since 2003 HEAT have been providing FREE and independent advice to ACT residents on how to improve the energy efficiency of their home and how to reduce their energy bills. The advice applies to all residential dwellings in the ACT, regardless of building type or age.
Product and appliance advice:
We pride ourselves on having the latest and most up to date knowledge of all energy efficient appliances and products. Feel free to contact us and we can help you make the upgrades you need or give you advice on the best way to use your new products and appliances. We can provide you with advice on items ranging from fridges - heating/cooling systems to insulation and solar related products.
New homes:
The best time for a consultation is when a preliminary design is complete and there is still time to change the plan not, of course, when the construction has begun. Changing a design is about 1/100th the price of changing construction.
Existing homes:
Come and see us when you are thinking of renovating. It often helps to discuss your ideas with an expert while you are in the ‘imaginary’ stage. Our technical advisors have built from the ground up or renovated their own homes and documented the savings.
What to prepare for your appointment:
So bring your plans, your ideas, and your dreams (and you can even bring your architect). Bring relevant photos of the house or land as well as the plan of the proposed design. Make sure you understand where north is located on your block. Then we can discuss solutions tailored to your home and lifestyle.
How much time do you need?
The usual consultation time is ¾ hour. There is the possibility of a second separate consultation if you require it later as the design changes.
How to book:
You can book an appointment on-line for a face-to-face consultation or to receive advice over phone or by e-mail.
